Workforce Preparation and Education Updates

The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation has announced the 2011 Scholarship Winners. Each year, the BACF awards scholarships to Crawford County students who have exceled in academics, athletics and community service.

Any Crawford County student currently registered for the Oct. 22, ACT is encouraged to attend the upcoming ACT Refresher Class, sponsored by Crawford College Connection.

This year’s Tilson Award will be given at the Crawford County B.E.S.T. (Business/Education Student /Teacher) Award ceremony on May 4, 2011.  The Tilson Award is given to commend companies for their outstanding support of education.  Buckeye Central Schools nominated Gochenour Meats and Drive-Thru owned by Shirley VanEerten for their contributions to both education and the community.  

The Crawford County Business/Education Advisory Council will be conducting its annual countywide recognition/awards program honoring outstanding effort by public school students and teachers. This year’s B.E.S.T. Awards will be hosted by Buckeye Central High School on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 7:00 PM, entertainment will begin at 6:30 pm.
