Members of the Crawford: 20/20 Vision Public Safety/Drug Abuse action team on Thursday, July 7. During the meeting, team members discussed measurable outcomes. According to Dr. Stephen Novack, team leader, the team is taking this approach to "determine whether any of our efforts are useful or effective."
Public Safety in Crawford County
The team is looking at public safety from several different perspectives. According to Novack, the team is "looking at public safety from a violent crime, bodily injury crime, property crime. And then drug abuse from crime statistics associated with drug arrests and drug deaths."
"The team will be examining aspects of various organizations' behaviors that can change the statistics relating to crime and drug abuse," Novack said.
Specific Actions from the Public Safety/Drug Abuse Team
According to Novack, "the team will be looking at specific actions that can affect outcomes in these areas that can be measured statistically."
"One of the most important areas, which is not measurable, has been surrounding parenting, and encouraging parenting that provides a healthy atmosphere for growth," Novack concluded.
