What is Crawford Unlimited Leadership?

CU Lead is an unprecedented leadership development effort in Crawford County housed under the work of Crawford: 20/20 Vision, a countywide improvement initiative. Now is the time to make an impact on the quality and future of leadership in Crawford County. Leadership, as defined above, is vital to the success of our community.

During the program, students (a term used generally to describe a diverse mix of participants from different demographic and professional backgrounds and sectors) will be challenged to explore outside comfort zones in order to grow as individuals and as leaders. By the end of the program, students will have a unique understanding and a grasp of leadership as it applies to all aspects of life.

Principles of the CU Lead Program

  • Cohort-based
  • Annual class of about 20 students
  • Requires individual and employer commitment
  • Combination of academic, experiential and reflective learning
  • Immersion in the issues of the county (The Crawford: 20/20 Vision roadmap)
  • The students of leadership will be required to be engaged in the action teams of Crawford: 20/20 Vision individually and as a cohort. (A project component)
  • Learning by doing
  • Focus on 21st century workforce skills: critical thinking, problem–based learn- ing, communication, collaboration and creativity.
  • Alumni will not be forgotten upon graduation
