The tireless work that is needed to improve a community often goes unnoticed. On Monday, January 24, the Crawford: 20/20 Vision recognized community leaders for their efforts to move Crawford County forward in a positive direction.
During the first ever State of the Vision meeting at Victory in Truth Ministries, 6 individuals were honored for their efforts in carrying out the Crawford: 20/20 Vision plan, which is a product of input from members of the Crawford County community. Those individuals recognized during the evening included:
- Todd Boyer, Ohio Mutual Insurance Group – Certificate of Appreciation for his work in helping with Crawford: 20/20 Vision public relations
- Jody Demo-Hodgins, Crawford-Marion Board of ADAMH – Certificate of Appreciation for her work in fighting the drug abuse issue in Crawford County
- Steve Mohr, Wynford Local Schools – Certificate of Appreciation for his work in helping improve the state of education in Crawford County
- Brian Saterfield, City of Galion Police Department – Certificate of Appreciation for his work in initiating the “What to Watch For” program in Crawford County
- Jay Shawk, Hord Livestock – Certificate of Appreciation for his work in helping bring leadership events to Crawford County
Along with these six individuals, Rob Neff, Neff Law Firm, received the first “Bucket Head of the Year” award for his work in bringing the Mt. Trashmore event to reality during the fall in 2011.
The final award of the night, the Vision Cup, was given to the goal team that made the largest impact on Crawford County in 2011. The Vision Cup is modeled after the Stanley Cup in professional hockey. Each year, the Vision Cup will rotate to the goal team that makes the largest impact on Crawford County. The Drug Abuse & Public Policy team, led by Dr. Steve Novack, was the inaugural recipient.
"The 2020 Vision Committee finds it an honor to recognize the efforts, hard work and dedication of our leaders who are setting an example for us all,” said Pastor JC Church, Crawford: 20/20 Vision Committee chair. “With willing hearts these individuals have given of themselves to help bring about healthy change for our county. These leaders have taken ownership of this vision and this county will be better because of them. We are extremely proud of each and everyone one of them."
The Vision Committee would like to thank all of our community members for their efforts and dedication to making Crawford County a better place to live, work and do business.
