Crawford: 20/20 Vision selects Chair and Project Manager

Crawford County Economic Development Partnership (CCEDP), the group that led the public creation of the Crawford: 20/20 Vision, has named Pastor J.C. Church (pictured at right) chair of the initiative’s oversight Vision Committee. He now leads the group that ensures collaboration and participation in the county’s vision plan in the coming years. Pastor Church is the Senior Pastor at Victory in Truth Ministries on SR 4 south of Bucyrus. He is also co-founder and board member of Together We Hurt, Together We Heal, in Crawford County, and was chairman of CC Lift, the county wide recovery effort after the devastating flooding in August 2007.
CCEDP, a not for profit private economic development group, has also added capacity to the county’s ability to implement the plan. Jim Cox (pictured at left), president of Independent Insight, has been charged with the duties of 20/20 project manager and will also direct the county’s new leadership development program, known as Crawford Unlimited Leadership (CU Lead). Cox assisted the group with last summer’s youth employment program, is an Ashland University adjunct professor and is a long time volunteer leader in the Boy Scouts of America.
Just as the entire Crawford: 20/20 Vision public initiative, thus far, has taken place without any public tax dollars, additional private dollars from the Bucyrus Area Community Foundation and from the Ohio Mutual Insurance Group are now providing the fuel to move the plan forward!
Crawford 20/20 Action Teams are interested in connecting with individuals who are interested in participating in the 20/20 Vision. Teams are taking on the key issues of drug abuse, economic development, unemployment, quality of life, meaningful education and workforce training.
Information about activities, projects, ways to become involved, and updates will be communicated to county residents through several means including radio, television, print, public areas postings, electronic blogs/email updates and newsletters, and websites. Numerous opportunities for comment and generation of ideas will also be available.
