Defining Success: Crawford: 20/20 One Year Later

ONE YEAR AGO:
Researching. Discussing. Planning. Informing. Listening.
At this time last year, the Vision team was in the midst of a series of large community meetings, looking to identify problems and engage the community.
The next step in the Vision process was to take the pre-identified issues and create some way to improve them now and in the future. So, a 20/20 Vision plan was written to guide the county through the next decade, addressing four specific areas: Business Success & Job Availability, Workforce Education & Preparation, Public Safety & Drug Abuse and overall Quality of Life.
The plan was developed based on input given by community members, local businesses and organizations and other individuals. When it was written, we knew it had to be a living document – one that was subject to change based on environment and situation.
But, you probably know all of that.
Fast forward one year, and Crawford: 20/20 Vision is in a new place. Crawford County is in a new place.
TODAY:
Working. Learning. Supporting. Collaborating. Engaging.
The work done in the past year serves one main purpose: a foundation for great things to come in Crawford County.
Vision leaders have worked to share the 20/20 plan throughout the county, and the momentum gained has led to some significant successes. Our idea of success is not just something “owned” by Crawford: 20/20 Vision, though.
Success is progress.
Progress made by groups like Together We Hurt, Together We Heal and the newly developed opiate task force team in the realm of public safety and drug issues;
Progress made by Hord Livestock, the Bucyrus Area Community Foundation and the sponsors of the 2011 Chick-fil-A Leadercast event, where Ohio Mutual Insurance Group announced its commitment of $200,000 to leadership development in Crawford County in the form of a new effort called CULead;
Progress made by those who are organizing the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights Speak Truth to Power campaign to educate students about human rights; and
Progress made by organizations that are dedicated to improving the quality of life in Crawford County.
Great things are happening to better our county. If you have a success story you want to share with Crawford: 20/20 Vision, please contact us!
